Butchers Broom Root
$16
Organic butchers broom root is the rhizome of a woody evergreen Eurasian shrub known to botanists as Ruscus aculeatus. The plant is a member of the asparagus family, distantly related to the lily family, and found in deep forests and near temperate coastlines.
The root, rich in iron and silicon, makes a hearty culinary and is famous as a medicinal. Since ancient Greek and Roman times, organic Ruscus aculeatus has been recorded as a potent prescription for a spectrum of circulatory ailments. Ancient Roman naturalist Pliny the Elder wrote in his work Naturalis Historia of how the organic Ruscus aculeatus reduced varicose veins and swelling in diseased limbs. Historically, those who have consumed the asparagus-like butchers broom root have been known to suffer less from circulatory diseases. More recently, scientific studies have indicated butchers broom’s efficacy in treating hemorrhoids and varicose veins. Dried organic butchers broom root may be effective in clearing partially blocked veins and arteries, while strengthening the walls of the circulatory system.
Organic butchers broom root has shown little toxicity when taken orally over long periods of time. It apparently does not affect blood pressure since it does not act like a hemolytic. The organic cut root is a favorite bulk item for herbalists for making many practical tea and tincture combinations. Butcher's broom has vasoconstrictive and anti-inflammatory properties with no toxicity problems when administered correctly. It is also used in the treatment of varicose veins and hemorrhoids.
Diuretic and cathartic.
